 Running from Reality

 Becomes me.

 My laughter fills unfamiliar streets

 wandering coastlines,

 searching seashores

 for bits of myself.

 Looking for something that will

 become my altar,

 an altar to myself.

 Running from reality

 eyes sparkling,

 skin glowing,

 I become forgetful of how

 Reality stalks me,

 overwhelms  me,

 frightens me,

 kidnaps my brain and

 holds me hostage

 in my pain.

  1. Reality is wherever you are in the present. Allow yourself to enjoy the escapes as part of your reality. Beautiful photo. I love this line:

    "My laughter fills unfamiliar streets

    wandering coastlines,

    searching seashores

    for bits of myself."

  2. thinking of you searching seashores and building an altar to yourself ~ beautiful imagery that fills my heart with tenderness ~ missing you dear friend.

  3. Just came across this line:

You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you. – Ray Bradbury

I love this. It makes me think of my adventures that I've taken on actual trips and while reading. I always seem to discover wonderful parts of myself. Sending you love and hugs.

  5. I think as long as we have wandering coastlines and meandering seashores to look forward to, we can get through the pain of whatever the present gives us.

  6. Not all those who wander are lost….
